It’s finally that time of year...Farmers Market Season! The Oregon City Farmers Market is a perfect event to support the local businesses, community and to try new things! With Oregon City’s Farmers Market diversity and variety you won’t want to miss out on exploring one of the best Farmers Market in the Portland Metro area.
Oregon City’s Farmers Market first opened in May of 2005. Since then volunteers have worked together with Clackamas County, Oregon State University Extension, the city of Oregon City and Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation to become a 501c3 in 2011 allowing tax deductible donations. Through these charitable contributions and grants, Oregon City’s Farmer Market effort goes to help aid the POP Club (Power of Produce) for kid’s educational nutrition programs, in addition to supporting low-income individuals. The Oregon City Farmers Market’s mission is to bring together community, farmers, artisans and educators to celebrate, discover and promote healthy, local sustainable food as an integral part of a resilient and thriving local economy.
Saying goodbye to the long winter and welcoming in the warmer weather with sprouting gardens, Oregon City’s Farmers Market opened their official Season May 1st and will be open every Saturday 9am to 2pm through October 29th.
Located on the corner of Beavercreek and Kaen Roads at the Clackamas County Red Soils campus, the Oregon City Farmers Market features a diverse list of vendors which offer “fresh produce, vibrant colors, unique flavors and foods celebrating the pairing of ethnic cultures and local ingredients in intriguing ways.''
